Ethan’s journey began with a simple moment — watching a fox cross a frozen field near his childhood home in Montana. Since then, his camera has taken him across six continents, from the tundras of Alaska to the plains of Tanzania, always seeking the fleeting moments that define life in the wild.

Guided by a deep respect for the natural world, Ethan’s images are both documentation and art — revealing the emotion and individuality of his subjects.

When he’s not on assignment, Ethan leads small-group photography expeditions, teaching others how to see the wild with patience, empathy, and purpose.

This annual summit brings together artists, scientists, and conservationists to explore how visual storytelling can inspire environmental action. Ethan will lead a keynote presentation and workshop on “Storytelling in the Wild,” sharing insights from two decades of fieldwork across six continents. Hosted at the Pacific Art Collective in San Francisco, The Art of the Wild features a curated selection of Ethan Cole’s newest limited-edition prints.
